CM trying to divert public attention, says ex-MLA

The posturing of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao about taking up a role in national politics was but a ploy to install his son and IT Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao in the Chief Minister’s post and divert people’s attention from more pressing issues, former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy said.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said there were many problems yet to be addressed by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and he should first aim to set the State in order before embarking upon the journey to national politics.

He said that no national level leader was ready to trust the Chief Minister and the entire episode was to divert the attention of the public from the present problems.

Referring to local issues, Mr. Jayaparakash Reddy alleged that some 10,000 people who were allotted sites at Aliyabad and Siddapur were not being allowed to take possession and instead were being threatened by the police. He challenged MLA Chinta Prabkahar to find accommodation for them and said that they would be accommodated near IITH if the Congress came to power.

He introduced Topaji Ananta Kishan who has been appointed as secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee.
