Castor seed prices rebounded by Rs 26 to Rs 4,172 per quintal in futures trade today on making of fresh bets enthused by upbeat physical sentiment. According to market experts, futures prices reclaimed yesterday's some of the lost ground as traders were building up positions in tune with fall in supplies of castor seed from growing regions amid the acceleration in demand from soap, paint and lubricant industries. At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange counter, castor seed delivery for the most traded April month revived by Rs 26 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 4,172 per quintal, with a business turnover of 42,080 open lots. Meanwhile, the castor seed delivery for immediate contract March month gained Rs 24 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 4,107 per quintal with an open interest stood at 23,550 lots.
