Sangma, who is heading the six-party Meghalaya Democratic Alliance coalition government, allotted the key Home portfolio to his elder brother James Sangma.
James, a three-time National People's Party legislator, was also allotted Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Power, District Council Affairs and Law besides Home (Police, Jail and Passport).
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Alexander Laloo Hek was allotted Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations, Arts and Culture.
NPP legislator Prestone Tynsong was allotted Public Works Department (Roads), Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Housing, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour.
Comingone Ymbon and Sniawbhalang Dhar were given the task to look after Public Works Department (Building), General Administration Department, Fisheries, Transport, Commerce and Industry, Community and Rural Development besides Soil and Water Conservation, respectively.
The Chief Minister allotted Water Resources, Tourism, Excise and Home Guards and Civil Defence to senior United Democratic Party (UDP) legislator Metbah Lyngdoh.
