Setting a trend
In addition to the SHOs, the entire functioning at these designated stations including petition enquiry, general diary and sentry duty, will be handled by lady officers.
Meanwhile, the maximum number of women officers will be deployed on duty for various operations at the remaining police stations in the rural district.
According to Police Commissioner M.P. Dinesh, women sub-inspectors attached to the city police will take charge of their respective stations to celebrate Women’s Day.
From driver to station house officer, most number of officers on duty during the day will be women, the official said.
“The public interface at all the stations in the city will be done by women officers for the entire day’’, the Commissioner said.
