Kia Stinger GT Already has a Limited Edition Model

Kia is celebrating its cross-Atlantic collaboration on the development of the Stinger with a special edition model.

The development of the Stinger sports sedan was a joint effort between the U.S. and Germany, and it stole the show as AutoGuide.com‘s 2018 Car of the Year. According to Kia, the Stinger has ushered in a new era for the brand, and now there’s a limited-edition Stinger GT Atlantica to celebrate. Limited to 500 units, the Atlantica special edition model is based on the Stinger GT2 AWD and wears a Deep Chroma Blue metallic paint job. It wears 19-inch wheels that come directly from the European Stinger, while the large-font Stinger badge across the rear deck lid is inherited from the Korean-spec vehicle.

Inside the cabin is an exclusive Espresso Brown Nappa leather interior, contrasted by a rich black suede-type headliner. Unique features of the limited edition model include a Surround View Monitor, a wireless phone charger, and heated rear outboard seats. There are also three Stinger Atlantica badges, one on the front center console, and two flanking both front fenders. Lastly, an exclusive numbered badge will be found inside and outside.

The Kia Stinger GT Atlantica is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. this summer, with pricing announced closer to its release.

“We recognize Stinger is something special and wanted to commemorate the 2019 model year with a stand-out variant,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America.  “Out of the box, the Stinger is a tried-and-true sport sedan with much of its development taking place on Germany’s grueling Nürburgring race circuit.  The Atlantica edition introduces more European flare while distinguishing itself with exclusive badging and features not previously offered by Kia in the U.S. market.”
