Officials issued restrictions in several areas of Srinagar on Wednesday to avert a separatist led strike march in Shopian town of Kashmir.

A separatist firm Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik has demanded for the protest in Shopian town to articulate harmony with the kins of six persons involving two terrorists and four non-combatantĀ died in a gunfireĀ on Sunday.
Cops affirmed the restrictions have been issued under Section 144 of the CrPC in Srinagar.
Yasin Malik has been arrested in the Srinagar Central Jail whereas Geelani and Umer Farooq have been positioned under house arrest.
As per the reports, In Srinagar, Schools, colleges and universities have been shut down. All tests slated for Wednesday had to be delayed.
Train operations have also been affected while internet services also persistent to remain close in south Kashmir.

In Srinagar, public transport, markets, business establishments will remain shut. Intense enforcements of J&K Police and CRPF have been done in Srinagar.
