Three persons, all women, suffered minor injuries due to inhaling smoke after a fire broke out in Hotel Swagath Grand in Kushaiguda.
According to Cherlapally Fire Station officer Shekhar Reddy, the fire broke out around 6 p.m. Fire tenders from the station were sent and the cause of fire is said to be a short circuit near a refrigerator.
“The fire consumed large cables in the hotel because of which there was a lot of smoke. While the fire was small, the smoke was so dense that it spread to the upper floors of the building. Since there was no fire, the people were asked to to go to the roof till the smoke dissipated,” Mr. Reddy said. The women — two housekeeping staff and a customer — had inhaled a lot of smoke due to which they experienced breathing problems. “They were rushed to a private hospital for treatment,” he said.
