The Jammu and Kashmir government today reconstituted a complaint committee to look into cases of sexual harassment of women employees at workplaces. Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Salma Hamid has been designated as chairperson of the committee which is empowered to register, inquire into and dispose of the complaints of sexual harassment from women employees of the civil secretariat, an official spokesman said. He was quoting an order issued by general administration department (GAD) here. The spokesman said special secretary tourism and culture department Reva Kumari, section officer, information and technology department Nuzhat Shah, representative of an NGO or any other person would be members of the committee. It has also been ordered that all administrative secretaries would constitute similar committees in their respective departments at the state, divisional and district levels, he said.
