Tata Motors Ltd. posted cumulative sales growth of 22% in passenger vehicles during the first 11 months of the current financial year due to strong demand for its Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Hexa models, said a senior official.
“From April to February 2018, we posted 22% growth, while the industry grew by 7.5%,” said S.N. Barman, VP sales, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit. “Last year, TML reported cumulative sales growth of 22.5% against 9.5% by the industry.”
In February alone, Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles sales grew 45%.
Unveiling the special edition of Zest Premio in Chennai, he said they had sold 85,000 Zests so far. The car was targeted at those in the age group of 35-45 years. While consumers liked Tigor for its style, Zest was preferred for its sheer power.
“Zest scored over others due to Impact Design 2.0’ design philosophy,” Mr. Barman said. “All the future cars will be based on Impact Design 2.0 philosophy that would centre on bolder exterior designs and more user-friendly and higher-quality cabins.”
