Reiterating his party’s commitment to development of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam north MLA and BJP floor leader in the Assembly, P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, suggested to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to comment on major issues like the Special Category Status (SCS) only after revalidating the information furnished by his officers.
Speaking at the media point along with MLA Akula Satyanarayana after the Assembly was adjourned for the day, Mr. Raju said the misinformation campaign that SCS was extended to 11 States was provocative and it was not good to stoke passions in its name. Unfortunately, people were being misled.
Mr. Raju said a full-fledged debate should take place in the Assembly on issues relating to bifurcation and he would explain what the BJP did for A.P.
BJP MLC P.V.N. Madhav said his party wanted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to permit a discussion on the A.P. Reorganisation Act (APRA) and it agreed for that. MLC Somu Veerraju said his party would use both Council and Assembly to refute the State government’s allegations.
