In a bid to increase green cover in the State Capital, Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) in association with Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO) will soon develop three parks with all essential features. The decision will serve the need of dwindling open spaces in the Capital City.

A meeting was conducted with the stakeholders here on Monday to discuss the proposal prepared for the construction of parks at HEC (Heavy Engineering Corporation) and Harmu Housing Colony localities. During a presentation, a detailed description of key features was given to the officials, including the ward councilors.

The parks being constructed under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme will have facilities like foot lighting, bridge, open gymnasium etc. Proper utilization of solar lighting system has been made at these proposed parks.

Additionally, all the parks proposed at different sites will have advertisement display boards as well decked up inside. The attempt of installing display boards have been done to generate revenue through advertisements which will further aid in maintenance of these public parks. Keeping in view State-of-the-Art facilities, open space will be utilized for the parking space as well as for shopkeepers who intends to sell out their stuffs.

According to the plan, two parks will be developed at Harmu Colony, Sector 10 while one park will constructed at near Kairali School, HEC area. Within three years, all the three parks are expected to be developed fully as per the blueprint. Lands at the respective localities have been demarcated.

Besides the basic features like path ways, jogging tracks, lighting, water fountains, all the three parks will also have services like fish pedicure and a small reservoir for promoting the concept of pisciculture. The decision of developing parks has been taken considering the population of these areas.

With shrinking green covers, the attempt to develop more numbers of parks will stimulate a fresh lease of life among the city residents. The project being handled by Perception Associates has taken special care of kids’ taste and aged people preferences who will frequently visit the parks.

More than artificial infrastructure features, emphasis is on perfect utilisation of green pastures without destroying the natural surroundings.

Approximately, Rsthree crore will be used in developing parks covering at least three acres of land. One acre land has been acquired for each proposed site for developing parks.
