Man arrested in connection with two bank robberies in three days

A man has been arrested by detectives investigating two bank robberies in Perth last week.

Police released CCTV images of a man on Monday as part of its investigation into the two separate robberies.

The first robbery occurred at a bank in Innaloo at around 3.45pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Two days later, police said a man entered a bank on Benningfield Road in Bull Creek at around 4pm on Friday.

Similar to the first incident, the man approached the counter and gave a note to the bank teller.

As the teller began to follow the instructions, the man who handed over the note suddenly ran from the bank empty-handed.

On Tuesday police said as a result of information provided by the public to Crime Stoppers, a 46-year-old man had been arrested by Regional Investigations Unit detectives.

He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
