There are some good things happening in March. It will be the first day of spring that we have been waiting for. Also we are going to spring forward our clocks so the day will be lighter. Winter will finally come to an end and flowers will be blooming and we will be planting our vegetable gardens.
Things will not change for the awful things that are happening in our world, but if we could put some of these things out of our mind and leave it to the Higher Power, just for one day at least.
We will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day and that would be a good day to forget our problems that we all have. St. Patrick was born a Roman citizen; he was enslaved for five years. He escaped and became a priest. He went back to Ireland where he had a lot of luck into converting the culture into Christians.
His name was Maewyn Succat and he changed his name to Patricius. (Patrick.)
He did not chase out the snakes in Ireland because there were no snakes in Ireland. The color of the Irish was blue until they changed it to green. March 17 is the day we celebrate St Patrick's Day, the day he died. My husband was Irish and we celebrated it each year with dancing and corned beef and cabbage. He is the patron saint of Ireland and we all will be Irish that day.
So enjoy this great day with singing Irish songs, dancing and eating corned beef and cabbage. God bless us all and pray that they be peace in the world.
