MANIPAL: Anusha Taarinie Jha, an Intern and Akshay Thimmappaiah Jagadeesh, an eight semester student of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal have been selected for the prestigious t from June 25 to 30, 2018. Only 20 students are selected from the country.

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are held annually at Lindau where a large number of Nobel Prize winners meet selected scientists including undergraduates, Ph.D students and post-doctoral researchers from all over the world for a scientific exchange of ideas, views and opinions.

Being selected to attend the Lindau Meet is significant and those attending the meets are called Lindau Alumni. Further, it is quite unusual for two students from the same institute figuring in the list as is the case with two Manipalites making it this year.

Dr Partha Dabke, an alumnus of Kasturba Medical College was the first to receive this fellowship from Manipal in 2015. On his return, he started an Annual Lindau Alumni meet and organized a multidisciplinary conference, the Indo German Convention of Lindau Alumni (IGCLA), hosted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, in August 2015.

That was a great opportunity for young researchers to present their work and network with other researchers from across the globe. Dr Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education expressed his happiness at the selection of two more students for the prestigious meet and expected more to follow in the years to come.
