Election for one U’khand RS seat started
With notification the process of election for lone seat of Rajya Sabha for Uttarakhand started on Monday.
The Returning Officer (RO) for these elections, Madan Singh Kunjwal said that with notification, the process of nominations for the election has started. Room number 304 of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha here has been made the nomination room for the election.
The election is being necessitated as the RS term of Mahendra Singh Mahra is ending on April 2 this year.
The last date for filing of nomination papers for the election is March 12. The scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on March 13 while the last date for withdrawing is on March 15. The day of voting if required is kept on March 23. The voting would take place from 9 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes would take place on March 23 at 5 PM. In view of the proposed budget session of the Uttarakhand assembly at Gairsain in Chamoli district, voting for the elections would take place in Gairsain
