For his next role, Parks and Recreation alum Nick Offerman is ditching his trademark beard.
The actor is set to join Good Omens, an adaptation of the fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, in a guest-starring role. He is set to play the father of Warlock Dowling who is mistakenly believed to be the Antichrist -- a part in which he will be beardless for. Gaiman made the big announcement Tuesday on Twitter, also sharing a picture of a clean-shaven Offerman.
"Seen here testing local drums for a 2 year old for volume+suitability (none of them were loud enough): our Secret Guest Star. Ladies, Gentlemen & All Others, as the father (sort of) of Warlock Dowling, the (Not-) Antichrist,I present the temporarily beardless Mr @Nick_Offerman," Gaiman wrote on Twitter.
Taking place in 2018, the series centers around a tumultuous time in which the Apocalypse nears and Final Judgement will soon be unleashed upon humanity. As Atlantis rises and tensions brew, the forces of Good and Evil are preparing their armies for the big battle. In this midst of it all are the angels Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) who have lived on Earth since the beginning and, after growing accustomed to the lifestyle, they're not so thrilled about watching it all come to an end.
The series also stars Mad Men's Jon Hamm, The Catch's Mireille Enos, The Originals alum Yusuf Gatewood and Emerald City's Adria Arjona.
Good Omens is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.
