Taiwan AirlinesThe declaration of FAT on February 28th says that the airline will allow crypto currency payments, namely Bitcoin, for buying tickets and various travel related services as it appears to turn into a pioneer in crypto currency adoption within the aviation sector of the country.

Now, passengers can utilize Bitcoin in a suitable way and provide discounted trading experience to offer more than 20,000 flights.

Zhang Gangwei, the president of the airline said that his company has “a bright vision for the future of cryptocurrency” as it proved to be “a significant transaction tool” over the past year.

Established in 1957, the Tapei-based airline appeared to be the most well-liked carrier for Taiwanese domestic routes. At present, FAT could be well positioned to draw the rising number of Bitcoin users all over Asia with its overseas travel routes to Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippine, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

In October 2017, Taiwan central bank governor Perng Fai-nan sustained regulating cryptocurrency, mentioning that Bitcoin trading should be added into the notification system of Taiwan for money laundering prevention law in a possible move akin to Japan that would eventually legitimize cryptocurrency in the country.

Reasonably, FAT’s move shows an emerging trend among airlines to offer its customers convenient payment options as much as possible, not to mention the possible PR boost up from associating its brand with innovative technology.
