CBI to probe SSC exam paper leak

| | New Delhi

The Government on Monday ordered a CBI probe into the alleged leak of questions of the Combined Graduate Level Examination held by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) from February 17 to February 22. A CBI probe was the main demand of hundreds of candidates who have hit the streets protesting against the leak. Despite the probe order, sections of students said they would continue protest till they are not given in writing about the order for the probe.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh appealed to the candidates to withdraw their agitation as the Government has “accepted demands of protesting candidates and has given orders for a CBI enquiry”.

The protesters asked the Left-wing student unions from JNU, who came in support of their demands, to leave the area. They said they won’t allow anyone to give political colour to their agitation.

The CBI probe order came a day after the SSC, which conducts examination for subordinate services, recommended an enquiry by the CBI Job aspirants have been protesting outside the Commission’s office here since February 27.

On Sunday, Delhi BJP chief and MP Manoj Tiwari, along with a delegation of the candidates, met SSC chairman Ashim Khurana seeking CBI probe.  Later, in a statement, the SSC chairman had said the commission agreed to request the Government to conduct a CBI enquiry.
