Subaru Ditches Softer Styling With Visiv Tourer Concept
The Subaru Visiv Tourer Concept has made its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, arriving hot on the heels of the Visiv Performance Concept.
The Visiv Tourer signals Subaru’s future design direction for a potential WRX wagon. It adopts the angular, sharp-edged styling first seen on the Visiv Performance Concept, indicating that future Subarus will appear much more aggressive than the vehicles it currently produces. Expectedly, Subaru says the Visiv Tourer Concept marries a symmetrical all-wheel drive layout with a boxer engine.

It sounds as though Subaru is putting active safety first with its next-gen WRX. The automaker says the concept combines the next-generation of its EyeSight suite of active safety tech with “new devices” designed to reduce driver fatigue on long journeys, but it didn’t elaborate. Whatever it’s up to, it sounds as though the production Visiv Tourer will be slapped with plenty of safety tech, along with other innovations designed to ensure the driver stays alert when behind the wheel.
Subaru said the Visiv Performance Concept gives us a good indication of what to expect from the next WRX sedan, so you can expect the Visiv Tourer to accurately predict the next WRX wagon. It will be on display at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show all week.
