A seven-month old girl was among four members of a Delhi-based family who were charred to death after being trapped in their car, which caught fire following a collision with a truck in Haryana's Karnal district today, the police said. The incident took place in the early hours near Shamgarh village, a police officials said. "The car, which was going towards Delhi, jumped a divider on the highway and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction," SHO of Taraori police station in Karnal, Janak Raj said. The car caught fire after the collision.
The occupants, including a seven-month-old girl, who got trapped in it were burnt to death, he said. After the police received the information about the incident, a fire tender was rushed to the site, but the car was completely charred by then, the SHO said.
