More than 43,000 people attended the first weekend of the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets, braving both warm nights and rain on Monday to get their noodle fix.
The noodle markets, which opened at Reconciliation Place on Friday and will run until next Sunday, have returned to Canberra for the fourth time. This year there is 21 stalls, and in a new move the festival has gone cash-free, with all stalls only taking EFTPOS payments.

Responding to reports of increased parking fines for people attending the festival, a spokesperson said "Fairfax are not responsible for public parking at the Enlighten Festival - we have passed this information onto the relevant people however we always encourage people to take public transport to our events".
The festival is between the National Portrait Gallery and Questacon, with free shuttle buses running between the Civic bus interchange and the festival. The food line-up this year includes Gelato Messina, Puffle, Satay Brothers, Mr Bao and Hoy Pinoy.
