Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party alliance will only increase corruption and criminality in the society : Yogi Adityanath

| | Lucknow | in Lucknow

Reacting sharply to the elctoral alliance between Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the alliance was ‘unethical’ and ‘anti-development’ as both parties were sworn enemies and joined hands only to defeat the BJP.

“What kind of an alliance will it be which smacks of negative politics. Both parties (SP and BSP) have not spelled out anything positive for the masses except claiming that they have joined hands to defeat the BJP. This alliance will only increase corruption and criminality in the society,” Yogi said while addressing a poll meeting in Gorakhpur on Monday.

The reaction came a day after the BSP announced its support to SP candidates in both Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha seats where by-polls are scheduled on March 11.

Yogi even equated BSP and SP with snake and mole rat (chachundar). “Aaj phir dono (BSP & SP) ke gathhbandhan ki baatein sunne mein aa rahi hain. Aisa lagta hai jaise koi toofan aata hai toh saanp aur chuchundar ek saath milke khade ho jaate hain. Inki yeh sthiti aa chuki hai (Today both BSP and SP are talking about alliance. It seems that like snake and mole rat trying to stand up against a storm in this situation),” Yogi said.

The CM had called both parties ‘berry’ and ‘banana’ leaves on Sunday.

“When Akhilesh came to power he declared that he will demolish statues of Dalit icons built by Mayawati and when Mayawati was in power, she stopped all projects of Saifai. When leaders are having such kind of relations how can they think of development,” Yogi asked.

The CM said that the BJP was the only party which has removed social disparity prevailing in the society.  “Dr Ambedkar raised his voice against social disparity and now the BJP is working on the agenda. We are fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the state without discriminating on caste or communal lines,” he said.

Addressing the meeting in Pipriach Assembly segment, Yogi said that now the people affected by natural calamities would get free houses under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.

“We have implemented many pro-people schemes. We are giving power to all. Law and order has been and after such a successful Investors Meet there is a hope of heavy investments in UP,” he said

The CM also narrated in detail about the works and schemes launched by the Centre as well as the UP government for the poor. “We are working on the slogan of  ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas,” he added.
