A Perth woman who killed her elderly mother and buried the 76-year-old in their backyard has been jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years.
The decomposed body of Ella Victoria Hromaya was found in a shallow grave at the rear garden of the South Guildford property in March 2016.
Helen Levina, 57, pleaded not guilty to murdering her mother by repeatedly stabbing her, but was found guilty by a WA Supreme Court jury last year.
The court heard on Tuesday that the pair's relationship had been described as "love/hate", dysfunctional and co-dependent.
"It is clear that your relationship with the deceased was acrimonious," Justice Joseph McGrath said.
"Your assault on the deceased was not planned or premeditated."
Justice McGrath said Levina had an immense dislike for her mother and there must have been a significant trigger to cause the vicious assault.
He said Levina used bleach to speed up the decomposition and lied about what had happened, claiming her mother had moved out with some of her Jehovah's Witness friends.
Levina's daughter discovered Ms Hromaya's remains when her dogs dug up a skull.
The court heard Levina had previously told a neighbour: "I can't stand the f****** bitch. I want to kill her."
Levina had her eyes closed and shook her head repeatedly during proceedings.
