Continuing the encounter spree in the State, the Bulundshahr Police claimed to have eliminated a hardened criminal on Monday, carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.
Like every other encounter, the cops also claimed that an aide of the eliminated criminal managed to escape.
As per reports, cops of Sikendrabad police station in Bulundhshar tried to intercept a Swift car on Jokhabad-Dadar border checkpost after learning that some hardened criminals were going to commit sensational crime late on Sunday night.
The cops also put up a barrier but the car crashed through it. The criminals occupying the car also opened fire at the police party after which cops retaliated.
After the firing stopped, the cops went ahead and found a critically injured criminal while his accomplice managed to escape. They shifted the injured to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The cops said that they identity of the slain criminal was ascertained as Amit aka Kaluwa of Prangarh area of Sikendrabad in Bulundshahr. He had 16 cases registered against him and was carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000. A case was registered and his body was sent for autopsy.
