Busting a goons’ gang, the Kamarda police arrested eight persons who were involved in a loot and brutal attack on a medicine store owner, which took place on February 20.
The accused persons were identified as Ratan Das (25), ,Dibyendu Jena (18), Jiban Behera (20), Kedar Jena (24), Amrman Khrushid (18), Sk Ehshan (19) ,Sk Imran (29) and Balabharada Jena (21).While four of them belong to Kamarda area, the rest are residents of the Jaleswar area .
Ratan is the prime accused behind the crime and he is son of Sambhu Das, a Panchayat samiti member of Jagabalam. Similarly, another key accused is Dibyendu Jena whose father Kishori Jena is engaged as a home guard in Kamarda police station. Ratan, a resident of village Kuruthia, is a history sheeter and several cases of snatching and looting in different police station are pending against him, said IIC Kamarda police station Bijay Murmu .
On February 20 night near Khalabadia under Kamarda police station limits the accused persons assaulting medicine store owner, Pradeep Rajan Das (32) brutally, had robbed him of Rs 5.40 lakh cash when he was returning home after closing his outlet. They had snatched his Bullet motor cycle and two mobile phones before fleeing. Murmu said that although the police could seize the stolen motor cycle and the two phones, yet the cash was not recovered.
Seriously injured Pradeep was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital after his initial admission in the Jaleswar hospital.
