The opposition AIADMK today urg'ed V Narayanasamy to take immediate steps to convene a special assembly session to discuss andpersuade the Centre to constitute in keeping with the directive of in sharing of river water. A Anbalagan told reporters here said that the was remaining silent on the matter without taking steps to urge the Centre to constitute the Board'. By not doing so, the government was doing injustice to farmers of Karaikal region who are dependent on Cauvery water, he said, adding that the should realise their pathetic plight. He said if Narayanaswamy was not able to conevene the special assembly session or take steps to persuade the Centre to set up the Board, he might as well step down owning failure to protect them', Anbalagan said AIADMK MLAs would soon present a detailed memorandum to to urge her to direct the government to have special session of the House to discuss the Cauvery issue.
