Market Now: Auto stocks slide; Tata Motors cracks 4%
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, only 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.58 per cent down at 10,970 around 01:10 pm (IST) on Monday, with all components in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors (down 4.26 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR) (down 3.30 per cent) and Motherson Sumi Systems (down 3.24 per cent) declined over 3 per cent in the auto index.

Shares of Apollo Tyres (down 2.80 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 2.73 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 2.72 per cent), Exide Industries (down 1.84 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.50 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.45 per cent), Bosch (down 1.43 per cent), MRF (down 0.78 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (down 0.57 per cent) were also in the red.

Weak Asian cues and import tariffs on steel and aluminium in the United States weighed on benchmark indices.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 126 points at 10,333, while the BSE Sensex was 362 points down at 33,685.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, only 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra, State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the gainers in the Nifty50 index, while Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors, Aurobindo Pharma, Ambuja Cements and Vedanta were among the top losers.
