The death toll in Sunday night's firing incident in south Kashmir's Shopian district climbed to six after two more bodies were recovered from the area on Monday morning.
Reports and witnesses said the body of 24-year Gowhar Lone was found around 250 metres away from the spot where three civilians and a militant were killed on Sunday.
They said Lone was found dead behind the steering wheel of his car (bearing registration number JK01Q-1723).
Another bullet-riddled body of a militant was recovered from an orchard in Saidpora village of Shopian.
According to local media reports, the deceased has been identified as Ashiq Bhat, who had joined militant ranks last year and was affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit.
