Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) announced on Sunday that agents of real estate and new projects can present their application before the RERA till May 31.
RERA Chairman Vivek Dhand informed that the announcement has been made under the provisions of Section 25 and Section 37 of Land Resources (Regulation and Development) Act 2016.
In case, if anyone fails to submit the application before the due date, they will be subjected to provisions of Section 59 and 62 of Land Record (Regulation and Development) Act 2016.
Dhand, the former chief secretary who recently appointed as RERA chairman, informed that State Government has constituted this authority for regulation of real estate, to bring transparency and competency in this sector and to protect the interest of the consumers.
The authority has begun its work officially within short duration of its formation and has already begun with the registration of residential projects and agents. Till date the authority has received three applications for project registration and six applications for agent registration, which are being examined.
RERA Chairman Dhand further informed that according to Section 3 (1) of Land Record (Regulation and Development) Act 2016, promoter of each residential project will have to get its current and new project registered with RERA compulsorily. Under Section 9 of this Act, registration of each real estate agent with RERA is also mandatory.
