Refreshed 2019 Mercedes C43 AMG Arrives with More Power
Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG has given the C-Class an update for the 2019 model year.
Making its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show is the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43 sedan, now sporting 23 more horsepower than before for a total of 385 hp. The standard C300 and C300 4MATIC models weren’t neglected either, receiving a bump of 13 hp for its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Torque remains the same at 273 pound-feet on the C300, while the C43 continues to have 384 lb-ft of twist. Both engines are paired to a nine-speed transmission, with the C300 getting a traditional automatic gearbox and the C43 benefiting from an AMG Speedshift TCT nine-speed unit.
Like other refreshes, the C-Class sedan gains redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with newly-designed LED headlights and tail lights that are now standard. There are also new standard 17-inch wheels for the C300 and C300 4MATIC, while the AMG model gets new 18-inch five-spoke wheels. In addition, AMG gave the C43 a new tailpipe design for the rear.
Inside there are a few changes as well, with a new multifunction leather steering wheel with Touch Control Buttons for the driver to enjoy. Smartphone integration is now standard on the C-Class, while certain intelligent driver assistance technologies have been taken from the E-Class.

Some of those driver assistance systems include Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Pre-Safe Plus, Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function, Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, and Pre-Safe Sound. The 2019 C-Class also has Car-to-X communications, allowing the sedan to act simultaneously as a receiver and transmitter.

The updated 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will arrive in the U.S. by late 2018, so expect pricing to be announced closer to its launch.
