Nirbhaya shelter home girls celebrate Holi with lots of fervour

A grand Holi celebration was enjoyed by the girls of Nirbhaya shelter home with colours and flowes. A fun filled event was organised by Non-Governmental Organisation Nirbhaya Mahila Mandal at a Nirbhaya Women Shelter Home a Domestic Violence affected Women Shelter.

Samar Khan said that women at the shelter home who have been abandoned by their families, celebrated the festival by throwing Gulaal and colored powder. The celebration of festivals in the shelter home allows the women to appreciate the richness and diversity of the country they live in. Holi, the festival of colours, which commemorates the victory of good over evil, one of the most boisterous festivals of India, was celebrated at Nirbhaya Women Shelter Home all staff members enjoyed the exuberant cultural programme held at the campus.

The inmates showcased their hidden talents through Traditional Dance performances based on Holi theme. Girls and Children enjoyed dancing, relished their favourite food and festival Sweet, Gujiya, and celebrated the festival with a lot of joy and fervor. Girls enjoyed coming together by forgetting personal differences and celebrated the spirit of universal brotherhood. Girls were encouraged to play safe Holi with dry herbal powdered colours or with flower petals and not by throwing water filled balloons on others. It was indeed a wonderful experience for the inmates, he added.

Chairman Sher Afzal Khan, Secretary Rashmi Manu Vyas  greeted warm Holi wishes to the Shelter Inmates, Staff  and trainer and also motivated to imbibe rainbow colours in their lives. They also wished everyone Safe and colourful Holi and also encouraged to play Holi with Gulaal and flowers.
