The arrival of new turmeric increased to Erode markets but the buyers quoted decreased prices. Totally 3,200 bags including 2,000 bags of new turmeric arrived for sale. said Krishnamurthy a trader. The price ofturmeric in the Turmeric Futures which is decreasing status remains static on Monday. But, on Monday about 50 bags of fine variety Salem Turmeric arrived and it was sold for increased price of ₹8,999 a quintal in the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard. The local turmeric was decreased by ₹500 a quintal of finger turmeric and ₹200 of root variety. In the Regulated Marketing Committee, the local turmeric price was decreased around ₹900 of finger turmeric and ₹1,000 of root variety. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,566 to ₹8,999 , root variety was sold at ₹ 5,050 to ₹8,023 . Of the arrival of 2,960 bags 1,409 bags were sold. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,369 to ₹6,455, root variety was sold at ₹5,229 to ₹6,299 . Out of 202 bags kept for sale 146 bags were sold. At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmeric was sold at ₹6,499 to ₹8,469 , root variety was sold at ₹6,229 to ₹7,200 . Of the arrival of 308 bags 230 bags were sold.
