The Youth for Social Development (YSD), MASM and CAC in association with the Oxfam-India launched the ‘Access to Free Medicine Campaign’ for Ganjam district here on Sunday.
The objective of the campaign is to increase people’s accessibility to free medicines and accountability of the Government and officials to make the medicine and other healthcare facilities available for free of cost and make more budgetary allocations to improve healthcare.
On the occasion, Jan Swasthya Abhiyan member Gouranga Mahapatra and Oxfam-India member Santosh Kumar Patra presented updates of the Niramaya scheme and shared the quality and efficacy of the free medicines available in Government health centres.
More than 110 participants of different civil society and citizen groups from across the State participated. Among others, Abani Kumar Gaya, Guru Charan Patra and Bibhu Prasad Sahu were present.
