After the encounter in Shopian on Sunday night, the train service in Kashmir valley has been deferred on Monday for safety reason. A Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist and three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were attacked by security forces in clashes on Sunday.

As per railway official, “Srinagar-Jammu national highway, passing through south Kashmir, was open for one-way traffic. We have deferred all train services in the Kashmir valley today.”
He added that train operations will be closed between Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir.
Train operations have been shut in the valley following an order by cops.
Prior, several trains witnessed massive destruction due to strikes in Kashmir. In 2017, the train service was deferred for over 50 times partly or completely for safety basis.
On Monday, a police spokesperson affirmed that a letter was received from Army that during clashes a terrorist and 3 OGWs were attacked at Pahnoo Shopian on Sunday night.

The dead LeT terrorist was found as Amir Ahmad Malik.
