Bikes seized; One held in Baleswar
The Industrial police on Sunday after seizing three stolen bikes from possession of an accused forwarded him to court. The accused was identified as Biswanath Mahalik (20) of Bangara village under Sadar police station limits.
The police could detect him when they were investigating a motorcycle theft case lodged by owner Kishor Patel (47), which was stolen on February 24.
The bikes of Hero Honda make were seized from the backyard of Mahalik’s home which he had hidden there.
IIC Industrial police station Paresh Rout said that the accused was a professional bike lifter and earlier he was involved in at least six bike theft cases, including four under Sadar PS and one each under Remuna and Industrial PS cases.
