The festival of colour Holi was celebrated with fervour across the State on Friday. A favorable weather helped the festivity reach its zenith. However, with the board examination a few days away, many of the youngsters chose to stay indoors instead of participating in the festival as they love to. Like elsewhere in the State, Dehradun got splashed in myriad colours as the people smeared one another with the quintessential gulal.Greeting was exchanged as were sweets.
The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met the Governor Krishan Kant Paul at Raj Bhawan on the day to offer his greetings.
Besides, the higher education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Ganesh Joshi and Khajan Das, principal secretaries Manisha Panwar and Anandvardhan, secretaries Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Dilip Javalkar, Ravi Nath Raman and Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, additional secretaries Vinod Kumar Suman and Vimmi Sachdeva also greeted the Governor and the CM on the occasion.
The sprawling lawn of the chief minister’s residence saw Holi played with natural colours.
CM accompanied by his wife greeted people who gathered and applied gulal on them. Among those who visited the CM on the occasion was the former CM Harish Rawat to greet the CM.
The official residence of the State BJP chief Ajay Bhatt also saw presence of a large number of party activists.
