BALANGIR: Police on Saturday began a probe into the brazen loot of a mini-truck laden with electronic detonators from a godown at Dunguripali near Belpahar in the district on Friday. Sources said nearly 20 to 25 masked miscreants barged into the licenced godown and decamped with the mini-truck loaded with explosives during Holi celebrations.
Though CCTV cameras are installed in the godown the miscreants put on masks to conceal their identity. As the involvement of Maoists is suspected behind the loot of explosives, the Patnagarh SDPO and Belpahar police station IIC rushed to the spot and started a probe.
Sources said taking advantage of Holi celebrations, the miscreants had stormed into the godown and after overpowering the four security personnel, fled from the spot in the mini-truck that was loaded with electronic detonators. However, the godown owner and police are tightlipped about the incident.
