Payyannur College leads in arts festival

NAS, Brennen in second position with 117 points each

Payyannur College was still maintaining its clear lead in the Kannur University Arts Festival, ‘Kalotsavam ’18’, on the third day on Saturday of the cultural event organised by the Kannur University Union at Sree Narayana College here.

If its comfortable and continuing lead is anything to go by, Payyannur College is all set to lift the overall championship at the arts festival which will conclude on March 4. The college scored 196 points by Saturday evening. Nehru Arts and Science (NAS) College, Kanhangad, and Government Brennen College, Thalassery, were in the second slot with 117 points each, while the host, Sree Narayana College, is closely behind with 114 points.

Sree Narayana College and PRNSS College, Mattannur, shared 24 points each in the ‘Nritholsavam’ (dance) category. Lasya College of Fine Arts, Pilathara, and Payyannur College are in the second and third positions with 20 and 18 points respectively. In the ‘Sangeetholsavam’ (music) category, Payyannur College is leading with 48 points, with NAS College and Sree Narayana College occupying second and third positions with 36 points and 22 points respectively.
