State’s financial policy comes under flak

The Centre for the Study of Contemporary Societies (CSCS), an independent research and consultancy wing of Samarth Jeevan Trust (SJT), organised a national conference, entitled, ‘Transforming Odisha: Policies, Institutions and Innovations here.

The objective of the conference was to provide a platform for researchers, policy makers, development experts, Government officials and intellectuals who are interested in exchange of ideas related to Odisha’s current social and economic outlook,  problems for achieving a developed Odisha.

The inaugural session began by lighting of the lamp by chief guest for the occasion, Patnagarh MLA and former Minister Industries and Urban

Development KV Singh Deo in the presence of Dr Partha Sarathi Mishra, CHRM, OMQ Division, Tata Steel who was the guest of honour and keynote speaker.

Three sessions were organised which include growth, poverty and distribution, policy and governance for development and healthcare in Odisha. Various researchers and experts spoke on various lacunas of the

Government of Odisha that include its conservative financial strategies as well as the fear of not taking risks.
