Urdu poet’s meet in memory of two renowned poets

A discussion and an Urdu poet’s meet was organised here on Saturday at Swaraj Bhavan, Ravindra Bhavan premises. The event was organised in the memory of two of the known poets of city Shafaq Ullah Khan and Shafaq Tanveer.

It is to be noted that Safaq Ullah Khan was former president of human rights department. Besides, Sahfaq Tanveer was the renowned lawyer of the city. Both were also renowned for their love of poetry. The event was organized at Khushbu Educational and Cultural Society, Bhopal.

Professor of Urdu Language Haider Abbas Rizvi was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Poet Shayam Munshi and Secretary of Urdu Academy Nusrat Mehdi, Kazi Majeed Naved and Shoaib Ali Khan were also present as the special guests on the occasion. These poets added much charm in the event with their recitations.

The entire hall of Swaraj Bhavan was packed with Urdu poetry lovers. The audience enjoyed every bit of the mushaira with chanting ‘waah-waah’ at each poet’s recitation. During the poets meet, the poets recited their poetries on various topics like love, hatred, pain and other human emotions.

Notably, various poets from across the city were present at the poets meet. One of the interesting part of the poets meet was the recitation of contemporary writing and audience listened to them with rapt attention.

The programme witnessed a huge crowd. People were enjoying every bit of the mushaira.

The hall was filled with clapping and appreciation. Each poetry recital had its innocence and purity which enthralled all the audience present at the hall.

The Bhopalites witnessed a fine day of Urdu qalams that left them totally mesmerised.
