Youth denied permission to protest over Syria massacre attempts suicide

Even as Muslims were offering special prayers or "QunooteNazila" in various mosques in Hyderabad and other places in support of the people of Syria and to condemn the bombings by Assad's forces, a young man in Telangana attempted to kill himself in protest against the police not permitting a protest procession.

Police in Warangal said that Mohammed Nayeem, district committee president of Muslim Rights Struggle committee consumed a bottle of sleeping pills while doing a live webcast in the Facebook.

The organisation had sought police permission to take out a procession as a mark of protest against the bloodshed in Syria.

In his Facebook live chat he strongly condemned the police and said he was feeling helpless and frustrated that he was not allowed even to express solidarity with the victims of Syria.

Police said first Nayeem tried to self immolate  it when stopped by the other members of the organisation he consumed sleeping pills.
