A dance event with 25 performers from across the country is being held here. The two-day 'Samabhavana', inaugurated last evening, witnessed performances by Bharatnatayam exponent Geeta Chandran, popular choreographer Terence Lewis, pioneer of modern dance form in India Astad Deboo, Hema Bharathy Palani who collaborated with Spanish composer Miguel Marin for her show 'Yashti.' Chandra staged 'Unurth' with soundtrack by Shubha Mudgal and Aneesh Pradhan. Lewis staged his dance production 'Negotiation'. The other dancers include Ranjana Dave, Surjit Nongnmelpakam, Aditi Mangaldas and Sudarshan Chakravorty. The event also organised workshops and discussions on dance by columnist on dance Sadanand Menon among others. The show, organised by well-known city based dance troupe Sapphire Creations Dance Company, was supported by the Union Ministry of Culture. It is the biggest dance event in eastern part of the country, the organisers said.
