A man has been accused of driving over the legal blood-alcohol limit with an unrestrained child in his car.
The man allegedly returned a blood-alcohol reading more than twice the legal limit of 0.05 after he was pulled over in Tullamarine on Saturday night, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
Police received reports of a motorist allegedly driving through several red lights before he was pulled over on the Western Ring Road at 11.30pm.
The man had his family, including an unrestrained four-year-old child, in the car.
The 37-year-old Montmorency man returned a positive preliminary breath test. He was taken to the Broadmeadows police station for a second breath test, which returned an alleged reading of 0.126 per cent.
The man's licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.
He is expected to be charged on summons with a number of offences including drink driving and having an unrestrained child in the car.
