Call to accord priority to occupational safety

Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories K.B.S. Prasad on Saturday called for laying emphasis on promoting occupational safety by the industrial establishments. He was speaking the 47th National Safety Day observed by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited at Multipurpose Hall, Ukkunagaram.

Mr. Prasad appreciated RINL for its achievements on safety front and lauded RINL collective for conducting the best mock drill. He said occupational safety had gained national importance and urged to stress on implementation of behaviour-based safety management by encouraging positive safety culture.

Technical discipline

RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director P. Madhusudan said safety should be taken care of by one and all and target should be to achieve zero accidents rate. He also emphasised the need to follow technical discipline and focus on safety considering the new hazards of modern equipment and capturing and investigating all near misses.
