The Communist Party of India (CPI) has described as baseless the reports appearing in a section of the media about the allegations against party leader K.E. Ismail.
Briefing mediapersons on the second day of the CPI State conference here on Friday, organising committee chairman K.P. Rajendran said that media reports about the party control committee report leak were baseless. He said the control committee report was yet to be presented.
He said discussion on the political report presented by party State secretary Kanam Rajendran had been completed by Friday afternoon. The delegates welcomed the idea of building a broader platform for secular and democratic parties to fight the Sangh Parivar at the national level.
A resolution adopted by the party conference asked the Central government to protect public sector units and the employees working in them.
It demanded that the Central government units in the State be retained in the public sector.
