Northeast election results 2018: BJP set to form govt in Tripura & Nagaland; Congress single largest party in Meghalaya

BJP can't form govt on its own in Meghalaya. It'll have to be done by regional political parties. BJP will play role of facilitator & not a direct role because we don't have the numbers. I believe parties will come together to form a non-Congress govt.

Real information was morphed in the counting. There also,they tried to create trouble. Despite all this, counting is now over. Now I am collecting the information. After going through all of this, I can make a comment. Please bear with me.

Nitin Gadkari and Jual Oram will go as Observers to Tripura, Arun Singh and I will got to Nagaland & Kiren Rijiju and KJ Alphons will go to Meghalaya to elect the CM.

Victory in Tripura has been a significant victory. BJP & allies share more than 50% of popular votes. This is a victory of democracy, and against violence for which CPM is well known.

The BJP has no doctrine.

This decision is taken after a serious consideration of the current verdict of the just declared results of the conducted general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly & also to safeguard the interest of the National Democratic Alliance in Delhi.

BJP is fully committed to the overall transformation of the Northeast. This region is blessed with immense potential to become a powerhouse of development. The Central government has already undertaken numerous efforts for better growth and opportunities in the Northeast.

While we are naturally delighted about the historic victory in Tripura, we will always have in our thoughts and prayers the BJP Karyakartas who lost their lives due to mindless Communist violence. It is due to their courage that the party has reached where it has today.

No I don't think he has failed. Give him time, he has just become President. It will take time for him to grow. It's not his defeat. Elections come & elections go. Any party has chance of revival if it works for people.

Left not 'right' for any part of India.

Congress party will be virtually left with only one CM in Puducherry in the country after they will be defeated in Karnataka in June 2018. In any case, Congress party doesn’t treat Punjab CM as their own, nor does Capt. Amrinder Singh treat Congress as his own.

We're extremely happy. We contested on 20 seats and have won 11 seats. CPI used goondaism & got rejected by people, we have only used democratic methods to contest this election. Congress is not relevant in Tripura and Nagaland

BJP's polling agent didn't sign on controlling unit, didn't follow procedure & are now demanding re-polling. Met Chief Election Commissioner & he's assured he'll intervene & take action.

Northeast always felt that Delhi is far away from them, with the DoNER ministry we have brought Delhi to their doorsteps.

Spreading fear and propaganda have been two weapons of Maoist ideology to suppress the will of the people. The people of Tripura have given a befitting reply by defeating them through ballots

Be it Kerala, Bengal or Karnataka, the way 2 dozen workers were murdered there, when they can't fight to the face they stooped down to this. Still we maintained silence. When we take action they cry 'vendetta'. This isn't vendetta but a step for the betterment of nation.

I do not have the figures but I think the elected team in Tripura is the youngest ever team. Some of them were even scared that would be rejected on the grounds of their age. Such young candidates successfully won people's confidence.
