- Mohamed Salah scores 32nd goal of the season to put Liverpool ahead.
- Sadio Mane doubles the lead with the 200th goal under Jurgen Klopp.
- Liverpool go second with 300th win at Anfield in the Premier League.
- Newcastle stay two points above the relegation zone with nine games left.
Well that brings an end to our Premier League live coverage.
We're back tomorrow as Brighton host Arsenal and Manchester City welcome champions Chelsea.
But until then, goodbye.
Full-time: Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle
A 300th Premier League win at Anfield completed with ease by the Reds, who go into second in the top flight above Manchester United.
They were made to work by Newcastle, who held firm until Mohamed Salah opened the scoring. Sadio Mane secured the win with the second in a half which was very stop-start and disrupted by a host of substitutions.
Graham Scott again says no penalty as Salah went clear and was taken out by Lascelles. He looked towards his assistant on the far side who said no. The contact was outside the box but it was certainly a foul and a red card for the Newcastle captain.
Salah goes down under the challenge of Lascelles. The Kop want a spot-kick but referee Graham Scott waves away the appeals again.
Salah gets in behind Lascelles and should find Can but Newcastle clear.
Liverpool looking for a final flourish.
James Milner on to face his former club, replacing the man who set up the opening goal Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Half a chance for Newcastle as Isaac Hayden heads wide of Karius' goal. That might be the last chance they get to set up a grand stand finish.
Liverpool very much trying to run down time now, with one eye on Porto in mid-week. They lead 5-0 from the first leg over the Portuguese side, but Jurgen Klopp has denied he will rest any players so expect many of these players to feature again. Therefore, you can understand why they are trying to take all the sting out of this game.
If Newcastle do go on to lose this game 2-0 they will stay 16th. Their next two games are key home matches against Southampton and then Huddersfield, who sandwich them in the table. Win them both, and survival is surely assured.
Joselu being prepared to come on for Newcastle, with around 27 minutes to go. Dwight Gayle looks like being the man to make way.
What that will do to help Newcastle back into this game I don't know.
200 - Sadio Mané's goal was the 200th that Liverpool have scored in the Premier League under Jürgen Klopp. Since he was appointed, only Man City (214) have scored more often in the competition. Exciting. pic.twitter.com/uBFXMpplaO

GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle (Sadio Mane)
That is the 200th goal under Jurgen Klopp and it was beautifully worked. Roberto Firmino drives forward and slips the ball inside for Mane, who slots into the corner. Game over, and there is still 34 minutes remaining.
Penalty for Liverpool? Mo Salah shoot goalwards and it strikes the hand of Lejeune but the referee waves away the appeals.
Paul Dummett saves Newcastle from surely conceding a second, as he denied Salah the space to cut inside in the box and Liverpool win the corner.
Better from the visitors at the start of this second half however.
Players back out for the second half at Anfield. No changes, but surely the Toon need to come out and have a go in this second half. Liverpool will just continue on the front-foot.
Half-time: Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle
Mohamed Salah again the difference for Liverpool, who finally broke down a stubborn Newcastle side who had threatened to frustrate the free-scoring Reds.
The Toon have sat back but they will have to come forward in the second half and that could provide more chances for the hosts, who have been far from their best but have the crucial lead.
Loris Karis sprung into action to make a flying save to keep out Diame's strike from the edge of the box. Newcastle belatedly threaten.
GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle (Mohamed Salah)
Who else? Make that 32 goals for the season. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is key with a driving run from midfield, and he lays the ball on for Salah who takes one touch and plants the ball beyond Dubravka
