The Chennai police slapped Goondas Act on 11 suspects, including the one who attacked IT professional Lavanya J within Pallikaranai police limits early on February 13.

The police had earlier arrested three people including one Vinaygamoorthy who led the gang that robbed her and is also a murder accused. The suspect will now be held under preventive detention for a year. 

The other 10 people detained under the Goondas Act by the city police includes six men accused in the murder case of cable TV operator Kandhan in Kumaran Nagar police station limit. 

Other suspects who were detained under this act on Thursday are Nishanth, Sathish, Sathya and Nagoor Kani.
