PROVIDENCE --Austin Czarnik, Peter Cehlarik and Chris Porter scored a goal and an assist each as the Providence Bruins beat the Charlotte Checkers, 6-3, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday night.


 


Paul Postma and Kenny Agostino posted two assists apiece and Zane McIntyre stopped 25 shots for the P-Bruins.

The P-Bruins went up by two goals on a shorthanded goal by Colby Cave, who deflected in a nice pass from Porter at 12:14 of the second period.

 

Josiah Didier put the Checkers on the board at 17:43 of the second and Trevor Carrick tied the game at two at 4:32 of the third period.

 

Josh Hennessy fired a rebound past Alex Nedeljkovic (37 saves) at 8:18 of the third, giving the P-Bruins a 3-2 lead.

 

Jordan Szwarz scored a power-play goal at 13:05 and Cehlarik scored 57 second later, increasing the lead to 5-2.

 

Charlotte's Sergei Tolchinsky made it 5-3 with 4:10 left before Porter closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal at 16:13.

 

Providence plays at Hartford at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
