Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addresses the media on his arrival at Hubballi airport on Saturday.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the outcome of the polls in the northeastern states will not have any effect on election results in Karnataka.
"The BJP is claiming that Karnataka will be free from Congress. But, the state will be free from BJP," Siddaramaiah told reporters on his arrival at the Hubballi airport on Saturday.
Replying to question, the chief minister said that the AICC president Rahul Gandhi, who visited Hubballi recently, did not know that farmers fighting for Kalasa-Banduri project were waiting for him. "Instead of contacting the personnel from Special Protection Group, they should have informed Karnataka Congress in-charge K C Venugopal or the personal secretary of Rahul Gandhi," he said.
He said that the government make a recommendation to the Centre on separate religion tag for Lingayat faith after going through the report submitted by the committee on Friday.
